handle with care/varsamt
A collaborate film with choreographer Anna Koch. Koch’s choreography pushes against the perceived limitations of the genre, developing the idea of what dance can be today. Claudia Molitor’s music tells us stories about our relationship with others and our environment, starting with listening, it connects to other senses we experience. Koch’s and Molitor’s work share a looking beyond the tradition of dance and music to a new, all-encompassing version of it.
In this audio-visual video installation small parts of nature are carefully moved, choreographed and composed. In its poetical simplicity it visualises an organic mapping, a material entanglement to allow us to appreciate how small fragments of life connect, intertwine and are cared for.
Handle with care/varsamt awakens our senses, the ongoing movements we normally do not acknowledge, giving value to the unnoticed. It draws our attention to the presence of performance, zooming into micromovements that propose an intimate dialogue between sonic and visual space, movement and music.
